THE STARS OF THE SHOW

EDMONTON, AB (January 6, 2016) – The Motorcycle & ATV  Show – Edmonton presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance will roar into town on January 15th, 2016 and run through until 5:00 on January 17th at the Expo Centre, Northlands. This premiere industry event will feature the brand new line-up of 2016 motorcycles, ATVs and scooters.

New to the Honda line-up is the all-new Honda CRFL1000L Africa Twin, a blend of Honda’s proven adventure experience with enhanced performance, advance technology and rally-bred durability to tackle any terrain, featuring Honda’s Dual Clutch Tramsmission. Honda  is also offering two brand new full-size side-by side models for 2016 –the Pioneer 1000 and 1000S, these promise to raise the bar in terms of power, performance and capability in both work and recreation applicatons.  The 2016 VFR1200X is a 1237 cc, V-4 powered machine featuring Selectable Torque Control to fine-tune the bike’s power delivery for different riding conditions.

Harley-Davidson Canada introduces the Road Glide Ultra with its sleek profile and touring esstenials.  The all new Road Glide®Model is back to let riders pile up the miles in highstyle.  The fixed-fairing, ultra-cool bagger offers riders and their passengers the ultimate in wind protection and long haul conveniences, along with all the features of Project RUSHMORE.  The Iron 883™ motorcycle turns up the authentic premium Bobber style, urban practicality, and comfort in 2016.  Visually refreshed, its new dark finishes are better equipped for the urban environment to let riders tear up the asphalt instead of washing paint and polishing chrome.  The newly styled Forty-Eight® is a low-slung urban brawler dripping with attitude.  It features a bold new front end, burly Dark Custom™ styling, and big comfort improvements, this muscular model is initiating an all-out urban assault.

The 2016 Suzuki TU250X revitalizes the retro cruiser style while matching modern design and efficiency.  This classically styled motorcycle comes with spoked wheels, a round headlight and low-slung tapered muffler.  It matches modern conveniences and reliable performance with a fuel-efficient ride.  The 2016 V-Strom 650X ABS is built to get you there with more enjoyment and excitement, in greater comfort.  Suzuki expands its versatility with wire-spoke aluminum wheels, more adventurous sytling and stardard ABS.

BMW Motorrad continues to bolster their presence in the adventure sport touring segment with the debut of the 2016 S1000XR.  Based on the hugely successful S platform, the XR features great performance, agility, upright riding position and sporty advenure riding.  BMW has refreshed their F700GS and F800GS models for this year, with new tank covers, ignition lock covers and electroplated fairing pieces and an updated paint finish.  These bikes are suitabile for both day-to-day riding and travel.  The BMW has made some key updates to  the C650GT include a newly redesigned CVT and clutch which results in more pulling capability.  Additional tweaks were made to the chassis,  suspesion, center-stand mechanism and exhaust silencer ensuring modern good looks and great sound.

The 2016 Yamaha YZ450F features a “reversed” rear slanted engine design to achieve unmatched mass centralization. The YZ450F offers class leading power in a 250 chassis.  Its engine has been revised and launch control system has been added for faster starts.  This motorcrosser corners easily and is lighweight and compact.   The Yamaha BWs  125 has undergone a significant makeoever, with all new styling and increased under seat storage capacity, making it a great urban or suburban commuter.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R ultra-powerful 1,441cc inline four-cyclinder engine puts it at the top of its class.  Advanced electronics, an innovataive monocoque frame and stunning bodywork makes the Ninja ZX-14R a sensation you have to see and feel to be believe.  The 2016 Vulcan® S ABS Café is unlike any other cruiser, it is geared to fit a wide range of riders.  With its stylish features this bike takes comfort, adjustability, Ninja®-derived power and performance to a whole new level.  The rugged and tough KLR650 is built for adventure, whether on pavement or off-road.  It boasts phenomenal fuel range and dual-purpose capabilities. With its 651cc motor it is extremely reliable.

The Ducati Hypermotard 939 combines handling, horsepower,  and provides 100% enjoyment to every ride.  It is powered by the new Testastretta 11º 113 hp engine and Riding Mode technology, Power Modes and Ducati Safety Pack with ABS and traction control.  The new Multistrada 1200 Enduro is the first Ducati designed to take you anywhere on any type of terrain.  Equipped with the sport, touring, urban and Enduro Ducati riding modes, adapting power, suspension, ABS and traction control specific to your riding style.  Ducati enters the cruiser world in its own way with a cruiser that boasts the design, technical content and performance typical of Ducati.  The X Diavel is “low speed excitement.”  Merging performance, ergonomics, style and cutting-edge technology it is the true Tecnocruiser.

The new Triumph Speed Triple S and Speed Triple R take the legacy of the first factory street fighter to a completely new level in terms of performance, agility, power, handling and capability.  With its new 1050cc triple engine, the naked performance roadster has been redinfined.  With over 100 new engine features this bike is well worth a second look.  In 2016 Triumph introduces the next generation of Bonneville with five exciting new motorcycles.  Each model is a beautiful evolution of the iconic Bonneville styling, all featuring a class-defining level of performance, capability and qualilty, driven by an all-new Bonneville engine family.

The Victory Empulse TT’s battery fully charges its 10.4kWh battery in just over three hours, with a 65 mile range.  Victory® doesn’t just prove performance, they advance technology.  It comes with fully adjustable suspension, dual brake discs on the front wheel and has a new lightweight cast aluminum wheels.  The 2016 Victory Cross Country 8-Ball has a classic custom look.  It features huge lockable saddlebags, an amazing sound system, 106ci Freedom V-Twin and many other creature comforts.

Indian Motorcycle is proud to introduce the 2016 Indian® Scout™ ABS.  This middle-weight crusier weighs in at 558 lbs., and extends its decades-long legacy of superb balance, precise handling and potent performance.  The 2016 Indian Chief Dark Horse is the most striking cruiser on the road.  Featuring matte black finish from end-to-end and only a flash of chrome, this bike makes a statement even before you fire it up.  The 2016 Indian ® Roadmaster™ is the industy’s most luxurious and anticipated touring motorcycle, it is the epitome of comfort in long distance cruising.  With the peace-of-mind and reliability of the Thunder Stroke 111 engine and nearly 38 gallons of premium storage, it delivers luxury features like power-adjustable windscreen, heated grips, dual heated seats, ABS, tire pressure monitoring system, keyless ignition , electronic cruise control and an advanced infotainment system.

KTM has bridged the gap between a full-size enduro and a trials bike with the new Freeride 250R.  The Freeride gives the rider confidence to navigate difficult and trials type terrain that would not be possibe on a tradition enduro bike, yet it has the comfort and ergonics for all-day riding.  The 500 EXC is the ultimate machine when you want to ride your bike to the off-road trails.  It is compact with a powerful 510.4 cc SOHC engine, with perfectly tuned suspension.  This machine masters each and every tough spot in off-road riding with ease.  The KTM 250XC-W has an unbeatable power to wieight ratio and is the prime choice for extreme enduro racing.  The cutting-edge engine starts effortlessly and is considered the most successful 2-stroke power plant on the market.  New updates for 2016 include a new front axle, new seat cover and robust skidplate.

Husqvarna has made updates that aren’t major but a few key tweaks to ensure they remain competitive.  The updates to all models include new front and rear brake discs, lighter spokes, blue anodized Supersprox 2K rear sprockets, gripper seat covers, and updated graphics.

The Piaggio Fly 50 is light, easy to handle, as well as sleek and stylish.  It comes with a 4 stroke HI-PER4 50cc engine for maximum efficiency and impressive economy.  The safety features include a protective shield and rigid steel tube frame.  The Fly 50 is both agile and stable which is great in the city as well as on rougher roads.  The compact size and flat footrest of the sleekly styled Typhoon 50 gets 61 km/l and reaches speeds up to 40 mph.  A dynamic solid vehicle with a four stroke – four-valve engine the Typhoon delivers impressive performance.  The Piaggio BV 350’s innovative technology  provides agility, efficiency and riding pleasure.  It features a state-of-the-art, single cylinder 350cc engine, with the power of a 400cc and its compact dimensions makes it one of the most powerful scooters in its class.

THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS

EDMONTON, AB (January 4, 2016) – The Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance takes over the Expo Centre, Northlands from January 15th – 17th, 2016.  The doors open at noon on Friday and remain open until 5:00 pm on Sunday.

As we start to turn our thoughts to warm weather and clear roads there is no better time to pick out your dream ride for the 2016 season than at the Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton. This is Edmonton’s only showcase for all the new makes and models from all the major manufacturers.  Talk to the experts, and hop on and compare models.  If a new bike isn’t what you are after there is an enormous selection of aftermarket accessories, gear, apparel, destination travel locations, clubs and associations and charity rides to check out.

The Show kicks off on Friday with the annual SHE Rides Night when women receive half price admission after 5:00 pm.  This special evening is all about encouraging females that are into riding or are thinking about riding to grab a few girls friends and make a night of it.  Check out all the female friendly models available.  New at the Motorcycle & ATV Show - Edmonton is the Torch Motorcycles Revv-olution.  Their exhibit will encompass various aspects of riding including gear and apparel that is specifically designed for the female rider.  There will be a number of ladies on site with their handbuilts willing and eager to chat with other interested riders.  The research, data collection and development of technology that Torch Motorcycles does will be of interest to all riders.

Once again Canadian Kawasaki has generously provided a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 300 to be given away to one lucky lady.  The lightweight Kawasaki Ninja is inspired supersport line and provides a thrilling and agile ride, powered by a compact but potent engine.  It boasts nimble handling and balanced suspension and a silky-smooth ride, irresistible to experienced track riders as well as novice road riders looking to sharpen their skills.  Enter to qualify for your chance to win.

The NORAL and Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group’s exhibit will feature a number of bikes dating back to the 1920’s.  These bikes have been maintained by their owners for well over 80 years.  This unique display highlights the pride these owners have for their prized possessions.  It is more than just a hobby, it is a passion.

If you want your kids to get in on the action, the Yamaha Riding Academy is just the ticket. Sign up for a session and expose your “wannabe” rider to the basics and safety of off road riding.  Children 6-12 years old will have the opportunity to receive instruction from the experts from Yamaha, get geared up in the latest safety equipment and then take to the track to test their skills and practice.  This is an excellent opportunity to introduce kids to the sport in a safe, supervised, non-threatening environment

Motor Madness and Mayhem comes to the Hall D throughout the weekend, this MX Freestyle Show will feature two side-by-side ramps which is sure to make for some fierce stunt competition among the members of the team.  This year’s freestyle team includes Keith Sayers, Heath Frisby, Nick Dunne and Albertan Billy Kohut flying through the air, while fellow Canadian Craig Latimer takes to the arena floor to perform burnouts, wheelies and other street style stunts.

There is so much to see and do for every member of the family at the 2016 Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton.

The Show will wrap up on Sunday at 5:00 with one lucky show goer poised to ride away on a 2016 Bonneville 900 Street Twin. This grand prize has been graciously provided by Triumph Motorcycles and is valued at $12,000.

EDMONTON, AB (December 29, 2015) – The Motorcycle & ATV Show – Edmonton presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance will roar into town on January 15th, 2016 and run through until 5:00 on January 17th at the Expo Centre, Northlands. This premiere industry event will feature the brand new line-up of 2016 motorcycles, ATVs and scooters.

This is the only opportunity for local riders to compare all the different makes and models from all the major manufacturers.  Riding enthusiasts can also check out the latest in gear, accessories, touring destinations, as well as clubs and associations.

“The MX Freestyle Show has always been a crowd favorite, and this year we are turning it up a notch by adding a second ramp and a sled to the action” says Show Manager, Laurie Paetz, “Don’t miss all the edge of your seat action at the Motor Madness and Mayhem Show in the Hall D, it is great entertainment for the whole family.”

Lead by Keith Sayers, the team of Freestylers that will be performing at the Motor Madness and Mayhem Show is impressive including Canadians Craig Latimer and Billy Kohut as well as Nick Dunne, and Heath Frisby.  These talented riders will thrill audiences with tricks like the Kiss of Death, Tsunami and Captain Morgan, flying over 10 meters in the air.  The smell of burning rubber will waft through the air as Craig treats the audience to street stunts including burnouts and wheelies.  Check the website for Show times.

SHE Rides Nite takes place on Friday, January 15th, when after 5:00 pm all ladies get into the Show for half price. Check out the riding clubs, training schools and apparel exhibitors for women, and stop by the Torch Motorcycles Revv-olution booth, they are making some incredible in roads with regard to women’s riding gear and custom handlebars and seats designed just for women.  The SHE Rides evening will wrap up with five lucky ladies qualifying to win a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 300.  The Kawasaki Ninja is inspired by the supersport line and provides riders with a thrilling and agile ride powered by a compact yet potent engine, its nimble handling and balanced suspension offer a silky-smooth ride, irresistible to experience track riders as well as novice road riders looking to sharpen their skills.

The NORAL and Alberta Flat Track Association’s display is always a big hit with the true motorcycle aficionados.  This year the exhibit will focus on “then and now”, some older than 80 years.  Club members will be on hand to chat about the building process and share their passion with interested show goers.

As many parents know, when introducing your child to a new skill it is better left up to the professionals.  The Yamaha Riding Academy is a unique opportunity to introduced kids between the ages of 6 to 12 years old to off road riding.  The sessions are lead by qualified instructors and will provide new riders with all the basics of off road riding.  Participants will not only receive safety instructions and skills training but they will have the opportunity to gear up and hone their skills on the supervised indoor track.
